Riyadh Air Orders 25 Airbus A350-1000s

PARIS, 16 JUN | Riyadh Air's highly anticipated order has finally been announced at the Paris Air Show today as the carrier has placed a firm order for 25 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, over Boeing's B777X. The order also comes with the option for 25 more of the type, and makes the airline the first to operate the type in Saudi Arabia.

These jets will complement the airline's future fleet of 60 Airbus A321neo aircraft and up to 72 Boeing 787-9 airlines in time to come as the airline begins operations later this year. The aircraft, which is the largest variant of the A350, will likely be used to operate the airline's longest flights, with a range of 16,100 km. For comparison, their other long-haul aircraft in their fleet, the 787-9, has a range of 14,140 km. Another airline in the region that currently operates the jet, Qatar Airways, flies the aircraft to various US destinations and Auckland- one of the longest flights in the world.
