LOT Polish Airlines Places Airbus Order

June 16, 2025

PARIS, 16 JUN | LOT Polish Airlines has placed their long awaited order to help expand their regional network today at the Paris Air Show. The airline will be taking in 20 Airbus A220-100s and 20 A220-300s, with options for 44 more from 2027 onwards.

The airline has selected the A220 over Embraer's E2 family of aircraft, which was a strong contender to be part of their refreshed fleet. The airline had a strong relationship with Embraer, as the launch customer of the first generation of E-Jets back in 2004. The airline also operated 3 leased Embraer E195-E2 jets since last year to try them out on their regional network. Nonetheless, it seems that the airline's fleet of 20 ERJ-170s and 24 ERJ-190s will be replaced by the new, efficient Airbus jet.

The A220-300 seats a maximum of 160 seats and A220-100 seats up to 135 seats, somewhat comparable to the ERJ-170 (76 in single-class configuration) and ERJ-190 (106 with both Business and Economy classes).
