Flight Plan 2030: Iberia Announces Flights To Newark
November 25, 2025
MADRID, 25 NOV | Iberia today has announced yet another North American destination, with direct flights from Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) to Newark Liberty Airport (EWR) starting early next year.
The carrier has announced these plans as part of their "Flight Plan 2030" mission which involves investing €6 billion to expand its fleet, add new routes, improve customer experience, and boost its sustainability and economic impact by 2030.
Daily flights between Madrid and Newark will start from March 29, 2026 using the airline's newest Airbus A321XLR jets. The outbound service IB327 departs MAD at 7.35pm, arriving in EWR at 10.25pm. The aircraft later departs on service IB328 from EWR at 11.55pm, arriving in MAD at 1.20pm the following day. The only other competitor on the route is United Airlines with a daily service too.
This supplements the airline's current 2 daily services between Madrid and the relatively near New York (JFK) Airport. The carrier also operates services from Spain to Miami, Boston, Puerto Rico, Washington, Chicago, Dallas, Orlando, Los Angeles and San Francisco in the USA.
This news also comes just days after the airline announced new direct flights between Madrid and Toronto starting 13 June 2026, with a flight time of around 9 hours, also using the A321XLR.
